The country is joining the world in mourning the death of the popular Kikuyu musician Dick Munyonyi, known for her viral song called ‘Firirinda’.

According reports, Dick Munyonyi died while receiving treatment at Gatundu Level 5 hospital.

It is also believed that the talented artist had health complications back then, shortly after dropping the viral ‘Firirinda’ track and has been battling with it ever since.

His song ‘Firirinda, which was loved by many and not just Kikuyus, is a traditional one that shows warmth and joy for welcoming and embracing visitors. It is actually a kikuyu song that he has done and taken the liberty of involving women to sing in unison so that the point is driven home.

The song that trended for quite some time made him be recognized, and he picked gigs, including performing at the former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s wedding ceremony.

His songs will always be remembered, and his presence will forever dwell in people’s hearts, not just because of his songs but also because of the determination, sacrifice, and hard work he put in to see to it that the public is entertained.
