Uhuru Steps Onto the Continental Stage

Former Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta is continuing to shape conversations beyond Kenya’s borders after arriving in Accra for the prestigious Tana Forum on Security in Africa.

The high-level gathering is known for bringing together influential leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to tackle some of the continent’s most pressing security and governance challenges.

A Growing Role in African Diplomacy

Uhuru’s presence at the forum is more than symbolic. Since joining the Tana Forum board in 2024, he has taken on a more active role in shaping its direction and conversations. This position places him among a select group of former African presidents guiding the platform’s long-term vision.

Beyond the forum, Uhuru has also been actively involved in peace missions under the African Union, particularly in conflict-prone regions like the Horn of Africa and the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Warm Welcome in Ghana

Upon arrival, the former president was received by Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Col (Rtd) Shem Ishmailidza Amadi, marking the start of his official engagements in the West African nation.

Why the Tana Forum Matters

The Tana Forum continues to stand out as a critical platform for dialogue, offering African-led solutions to the continent’s security concerns. It brings together governments, experts, and global partners to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and push for inclusive approaches to peacebuilding.

As Africa continues to navigate complex security challenges, leaders like Uhuru Kenyatta are stepping into new roles raising one big question: who will shape the continent’s next chapter of peace?
