JT BIGGA FIGGA NARRATES WHY GANG VIOLENCES ARE SO COMMON IN THE HIPHOP INDUSTRY

Published on

Joseph Tom (49 years)whose stage name is JT Bigga Figga, is an American Rapper and Producer. He has worked with quite a couple of Hip-hop artists, the likes of 21 savage among others.

JT, is in Kenya because he came to help the artists in Kenya in their production.

He relocated in Kenya with his family in the year 2021 on January.

Speaking on a Spm Interview hosted by Betty, JT narrates the struggles of having grown from the streets and being a top deal, “It’s hard to be a rap artist, when you represent the streets and you cut the streets off from the Business,” He termed it as hardest thing to do. “Because this is our family, we come from these places so it’s hard to separate even when you get the money,”

JT also explained why he became violent, “I started to see myself becoming more violent, more gun oriented because that is almost like you have to have those, when you become popular. Because there’s people watching you and they see your jewelry or car and they be like, am gonna take that from you,”

Furthermore, he said that once you are popular in the USA you may need to strip up because you might be plotted against. And speaking as to why the black Americans don’t come in Kenya is because,

“Somebody told us that African people don’t like black American people. Africans are starving, they gonna rob you, they gonna take advantage to you, you gonna get sick over there. Everybody is poor,”

He Acknowledged the Kenyan Artist for sticking together and not breaking their code despite them singing violence in the tracks they don’t do that in real life.

About the Take off situation he said that, it all came down because of the tension among groups,

“There were able to piece up that it was a guy in a yellow hoodie with some dread locks…. he just shot him in the head, but that’s like jealousy still,”

Stating that this is the very reason why there are chaos in hip-hop, people holding grudges over issues that happened even 30 years back.

JT also reveled how he was shot a couple of times,

“I got shot in my head as a kid with a 22 rifle in forth worth Texas, the bullet is still in my head. The next time I got shot it was in my foot……, every time is like attempted robberies and I always tell myself I gotta fight back cause they go kill you anyway.”

The availability of rifle guns in the states is what makes the number of killings high and so rampant.

He lastly advised people not to waste time and opportunity and consider working hard as well. He is also set release a film featuring Kenyan artists like Wakadinali, the film is scheduled to come out this Christmas and he has urged people to watch out for it. And emphasized on being united and have hope as it will take them places. He also had a word for the Kenyan artists and producers saying that they have to stop taking beats from YouTube even if it’s cheap rather consider getting their songs registered before they are uploaded on YouTube that way, none of their money will go elsewhere.
