Residents of Ol Kalou Constituency have begun casting their votes in a closely watched parliamentary by-election, with polling stations opening as scheduled at 6:00 a.m. under the supervision of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Muchina Casts His Vote
After casting his ballot on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Muchina took to his X account to express gratitude for the peaceful atmosphere witnessed at polling stations.
He thanked IEBC officials, security agencies, party agents and all stakeholders for ensuring the voting exercise was conducted in a calm, transparent and orderly manner.
“This morning, I proudly exercised my democratic right by casting my vote. I thank God that the voting process has been peaceful, orderly and smooth.
