Tension erupted on June 19, 2026, during a public function in Kuresoi North Sub-County, Nakuru County, attended by top government officials, local leaders, and residents. What began as a normal event quickly descended into disorder as rival groups clashed violently.

Authorities confirmed that 56 individuals were taken into custody in connection with the chaos. Police say the suspects are still being held as investigations continue, with officers also collecting items believed to have been used during the clashes.
