President William Ruto officially launches global 5-star hotel JW Marriot

President Ruto has officially launched multi-million hotel JW Marriot at the iconic GTC Towers on Chromo Lane in Nairobi after a recent meeting with International leaders at The State house.

The exquisite 5-star hotel is only available in select countries globally- and Kenya is now among the few selected in Africa.

Ruto explained the importance of launching the hotel, citing that creation of employment were among the pros of launching the hotel in the country.

The President also explained that the hotel would create a strategic convergence of development policy & investor activity in the country.

Established in 1984, The JW Marriott brand was the opening of the first hotel in Washington, D.C. It was named as a tribute to J.W. Marriott, the founder of Marriott Corporation. In 1989, Hong Kong was the destination for the overseas launch. Europe and the Middle East followed suit in 1993.

In attendance

The event, held at The State House, featured renowned International leaders, including China’s ambassador Wu Peng.

Some of the local leaders who attended the event include Musalia Mudavadi, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Tourism & Wildlife CS Alfred Mutua, among others.

Musalia Mudavadi acknowledged President Ruto’s efforts regarding opening of the luxurious hotel; adding that it’s a huge step towards development of the country.

As we stand here, it might be good to recollect that the partnership that Kenya has built over the years with China is over 60 years old and therefore it is of great significance that you are preciding over inauguration of this artchitectural masterpiece.

He added that Ruto has created a conducive environment for investors in the country.

The JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi features 315 guest rooms, 51 serviced apartments, event and business facilities featuring 760 square meters of conferencing space, restaurants and bars, fitness facility and a spa.
