Mumias East, Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has hinted that he plans to hold a ceremony at Mumias Sugar Factory to celebrate the liberation of Mumias Sugar Stakeholders.
He said that he has yet to decide on the day that the ceremony will take place but has promised that it will be a big one.
According to him, the ceremony is set to recognize those who fought for what they have; at the moment, those are the forefathers he said have been speaking through him.
Salasya says that it will be a Thanksgiving Day that looks to acknowledge the people who fought for their independence and see that everybody, thus the common Mwananchi, lives a decent life.
It will also be a prayer and a Thanksgiving to the Lord, an appreciation, and a way to usher in a new way that people will be living, for they have been suffering under the brutal leadership of the cartels, as he put it.
“We will be having a Thanksgiving Day at Mumias Sugar Factory to thank God for what he has done for us.”
