Kenyan Rapper Khaligraph Jones has shared the reason why artists shouldn’t rely on music alone to survive.

Speaking in an interview with Plug TV, he said that music is just a platform to help you create awareness of your brand and give you an opportunity to connect with other companies so that you get more endorsement deals.

He said that one cannot live on music alone as they’d crumble because what people get out of music is very little. Instead, he said that what can make artists grow is their own brand and how they are able to pull brands that can pick them and pay them as they help them in advertising their product.

“Music is just a platform for you to expand your potential to other areas.

You have to invest in your brand because it is the only thing that will bring you money from other fields.

Ukikaa tuh hapo aty unafikiria wimbo moja ndio itakufanya ukue rich, it is never going to happen, not just in Kenya but worldwide as well.” Khaligraph said.

He said that tracks don’t pay well, and that applies worldwide, urging artists to up their game when it comes to working on their brand, as that is the only thing that will pay them well above ensuring that they don’t tarnish their brand.

Khaligraph Jones is working with Monster, Coca-Cola, and other companies on endorsement deals that are paying him well because they are using his brand to market their products.
