Mr Lenny Speaks On How Artists Can Survive On Music Alone

Kenyan artist Mr. Lenny has shared the strategy that artists can use to survive on their talent alone.

Speaking in an interview with SPM BUZZ, he opened up by saying that artists should at all times see that they are showing up for each other and doing the most as far as working on their careers entails. That is the only way that will make them get referrals and be recognized more by the public.

Speaking on artists surviving on music, he highlighted the matter, saying it is very achievable; it’s only that artists need to master the technique of the music business.

“I think most of us have not yet mastered the art of the music business. That is what we are lacking. Until we crack that, we will not be able to rely on music alone.

As far as there are some surviving on music alone, eating from the fruits of music, some are suffering and can’t make a living out of it.”

Lenny mentioned the online streaming apps, hinting that it is very much possible to earn from the apps as long as people learn how to go about them and maximize the opportunity of what the apps come with. Emphasizing that the secret to it all is building a good rapport with their audience.

Lenny also shared that the secret to being relevant in the industry is to be grateful, stay humble, support fellow artists in the long run, and push what they are doing as well.

“At the end of the day, as an artist, if you are not on good terms with people, then your career will not stand a chance to stand for long.

Stay humble and remain true to yourself.” Lenny added

He also echoed on the matter of ‘Supporting each other’ by urging artists to do more when it comes to supporting and lifting each other, as that’s the only way they can grow and reach greater heights.

‘Clap for others when your time comes; they will clap for you as well,’ a statement he emphasized strongly with detailed information.
