Main Story

Ndeti Backs Kalonzo

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her support for Kalonzo Musyoka as he positions himself for the 2027 presidential contest.

In a statement posted on X on Monday, August 17, 2026, Ndeti said she believes residents of Lower Eastern have settled on the Wiper leader as their preferred candidate.

She portrayed Kalonzo as a seasoned politician with extensive experience in national leadership and said she believes his approach is focused on serving Kenyans across the country.

Call for Kamba Unity

Beyond endorsing Kalonzo, Ndeti used her message to appeal for unity within the Kamba community.

The governor cautioned against political manoeuvres that could create divisions within the community, arguing that a united electorate would have greater influence in determining its political direction.

She maintained that the community’s collective strength would be important as the country moves closer to the 2027 elections.

Ndeti Has Repeatedly Supported Kalonzo

Monday’s statement is not the first time Ndeti has urged the Kamba community to rally behind Kalonzo.

In July, the Machakos governor similarly called for a united political position, encouraging members of the community to speak with one voice as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

Her latest remarks further underline the growing political focus on regional voting blocs as various leaders position themselves ahead of the presidential race.

With the election still ahead, Kalonzo’s ability to consolidate support in Lower Eastern could become an important part of his broader national campaign strategy.

As Kenya heads toward another closely watched election, the question remains: will regional unity translate into the national support Kalonzo needs to make his 2027 presidential ambitions a reality?
