Kenyan Neno Evangelist Pastor Nga’nga has shared his perception of who stupid people are.

Speaking at his gathering in church, Pastor Ng’ang’a said that only stupid people buy phones worth 20,000 ksh, adding that this is especially true for those who acquired them through an installment plan.

The TikTok Video that has been going viral in social media caught him calling out his congregants to stop buying phones on credit as it makes them look insane.

“Hauwezi kununua simu ya 20,000 ukopeshwe na safaricom ukue unalipa kila siku…unless you are stupid. Ukitembea itabidi akili zako ziwe tuh kwa ile simu,” Pastor Ng’ang’a said.

Translation: (How will you go and buy a phone worth KSh 20,000? Worse, you are acquiring it through an installment plan, so you are on credit. You can only buy a KSh 20,000 phone if you are stupid because you will have to think about the phone every time since you are still paying for it as it is not fully yours) Pastor Nga’ng’a shared.

According to him, only those with cheap phones worry all the time because they are always stressed about it, unlike those who own expensive ones like him.

Pastor Ng’ang’a said he owns a phone worth 240,000 ksh, a gadget that he normally shows off each time he is in a meeting to his mates, as per him, that shows who you are, in other words, defines your status as a phone. He says he rarely worries about it and rarely uses it since it has very few apps that he doesn’t at times use, scaling down to only three that are Facebook, Whatsapp, and YouTube.

“This mine cost me KSh 240,000. I was given KSh 160,000 by someone to buy a phone, then I topped it up.One asked me Pastor mbona uko na hiyo simu. I don’t usually use every application on this phone. I only use WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube. However, I bought it because of my class. If we go to a meeting, I just place it on the table,” Pastor Ng’anga added.
