Neymar Sustains Another Knee Injury During FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Brazilian footballer Neymar is set to undergo surgery following a knee injury he sustained to his left knee.

Brazilian forward Neymar Junior will be sidelined for several months as he will be scheduled to undergo surgery after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in his left knee during a World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay.

Neymar’s injury was confirmed by Brazil’s Football Confederation (CBF) on Wednesday, following an MRI scan. The statement from CBF also mentioned that the date for Neymar’s surgery is yet to be determined. The medical teams of both the Brazilian national team and Al Hilal are reportedly in constant communication and are working together to ensure Neymar’s recovery.

The 31-year-old baller left the pitch in tears on a stretcher after receiving treatment for several minutes and took to his social media to express his disappointment in what got him, stating that it was a very sad time for him, hoping all the best even if he had undergone one before.
