In Kongo Itari, Tigania East, a man lost his life while attempting to track stolen livestock. Sammy Munoru (38), a local resident, was part of a team including National Police Reservists following hoof marks in Lanyiru sub-location when they were ambushed by armed assailants.

Munoru sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene. Another member of the team was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital. The community has been left shaken as grief and anger ripple through the area.
