Kenyan former radio host Andrew Kibe, who is also a YouTuber, has started his own comedy show alongside other well-known comedians and creatives in the country.
Andrew Kibe, who was at his event launch called the ‘Nairobi Street Kitchen, said that he decided to start it because he wants to bring stand-up comedy to Africa.
“The vision is to bring stand-up comedy to Africa. We have a lot of stand-up comedy, but hatujai wahi kua na the opportunity of giving the raw stand-up comedy as it is.
This is where it starts, and it starts tonight.” Andrew Kibe explained.
He goes on to say that he will be adding the team with like-minded individuals so that together they can build a strong team and get to reach out to more people by unleashing their potential that lies deep within. He believes Kenya has talented stand-up comedians; it is only that they lack platforms to showcase what they can do. With his help, he can help the comedians do it.
He said he is willing to introduce people, but only the specifics that are in their spirit, something he redefined as ‘No Holds Barrel’
He was alongside Kenyan creatives Nick Bigfish and Dj Shiti, amongst others. Furthermore, he did also hint that on April 2, they would be in Eldoret, Kitale, and then Kisumu City as they went on.

Kibe said that the essence of the show is to cut it up and use it for marketing purposes so that they establish their audience.
This was seconded by Dj Shiti, who said that it is high time they do away with mediocrity in the industry so that creatives can stop being attacked by the public for not having grown because they have been earning way back and failed to invest in themselves. Dj Shiti believes this is a new era and a way to unlock the potential that exists within.
He supported his statement by giving an example of how online media has taken over from the main streams, saying that is exactly what they want to do by not relying on others to be known.
