Leaders Who Took Part in Tree Planting Yesterday Amongst them Being Nyaribari Chache MP Zahir Jhanda

Yesterday the 13th of November 2023 the whole Country was taking part in tree planting an event that saw many complying.

President William Ruto led the nationwide tree planting effort in Makindu, Makueni County.

Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Zahir Jhanda took part in the nationwide activity although having been out of the Country, He planted his tree at Europe sharing adorable pictures while having a moment with pigeons.

Nyaribari Chache MP Zahir Jhanda is the first MP to be elected under the UDA ticket and has been in the spotlight a lot especially after sharing the plans he has for his constituency.

Below is a list of other leaders that took part in tree planting:

1. Governor Muthomi Njuki from Tharaka Nithi also took part in tree planting activity, he also said that going forward henceforth there will be no more burning of charcoal leave alone cutting down trees.

2. Moses Kuria (Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management) – Kisumu/Siaya

3. Ezekiel Machogu (Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Education) – Migori and Trans Nzoia Counties

4. Eliud Owalo (Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy) – Nandi and Kisii Counties

5. Florence Bore (Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection) – Nyamira and Bomet Counties

6. Zacharia Njeru (Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation) – Kajiado and Kiambu Counties

7. Alfred Mutua (Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary) – Kitui and Taita Taveta Counties.

8. Kithure Kindiki (Cabinet Secretary of Interior and Administration): Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Turkana and Marsabit Counties.

9. Musalia Mudavadi (Prime Cabinet Secretary) – Tharaka Nithi and Kirinyaga Counties

10. Mithika Linturi (Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture) – Makueni and Samburu Counties

11. Mercy Wanjau (Secretary to the Cabinet) – Nairobi County

The above leaders insisted on the need for residents to be proactive in tree planting and be very cautious when it comes to conserving the environment.

The Government’s ambitious goal is to plant 150 million trees by the end of the day, aligning with the public holiday declared by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on November 7, 2023.

Almost every Kenyan took part in the activity as the Government had directed the public to go and get seedlings from their Chiefs.
