Pavel Talankin, one of the filmmakers behind the documentary Mr Nobody Against Putin, is facing an unexpected situation after his newly won Oscar reportedly disappeared during a flight from New York to Germany.
According to Talankin, he had packed the prestigious award inside his carry-on luggage while travelling through John F. Kennedy International Airport. However, things reportedly changed at the security checkpoint.

Talankin says airport officials informed him that the Oscar statuette could potentially be considered a dangerous object and therefore could not travel in the cabin.
Since he had no checked baggage prepared for the journey, airline staff reportedly assisted him in placing the award into a box before it was checked onto the flight.
