Kenyan political strategy consultant and digital journalist, Dennis Itumbi refutes claims that President Ruto was involved in summoning people to detain Nuru Okanga.

Speaking through his Twitter (X) account, he said that the president is too busy and doesn’t have time for such dramas, let alone being aware that Nuru Okanga is out there defaming him.

“I know for a fact that President @williamsRuto has serious stuff to do and is not interested in such drama and arrest; he does not even know about it.” Part of Dennis Itumbi’s message read:

He goes on to question the one responsible for apprehending Nuru Okanga and ask the government officials, together with the police forces, to let bloggers be because they are only making it worse by taking them in, as they should let them air their grievances as they have a right to do so.

“I completely disagree with the idea of arresting bloggers for insulting the president. Whoever is doing it, wacheni kabisa. There actually exists a right to offend, shock, or disturb.” Dennis Itumbi wrote.

He even asked lawyer @W Kinuthia to represent the accused Okanga in court should he agree to pay him.

As of now, ODM Die Supporter and father of three, Nuru Okanga, has been bailed out of 10,000 Ksh, and his case has been adjourned to December 13, 2023.
