Communication is Key ~ Nana Owiti Shares the Secret to a Successful Marriage and Relationship

Kenyan influencer, entrepreneur and mother who goes by the name Nana Owiti, has shared the secret to a successful marriage and relationship.

Speaking in an interview with SPM BUZZ yesterday, she said the secret to having a successful marriage and relationship is basically having effective, comprehensive communication.

“Every marriage is different… At the end of the day, it is communication, and not just communication but comprehension. When you communicate with your partner, do they comprehend what you are saying?”

According to her, couples should maintain communication, and the reason most marriages are failing is because of a lack of communication and playing ego games.

She urged couples to be understanding with each other and always talk it down, whichever the issue is, so that it doesn’t escalate.

She also advised that in marriages, couples should support each other by sharing roles so that they grow together, hinting that marriage is a business and should be run by two people.

“Ebu imagine msee wako afanye kila kitu honestly speaking, you think it is right? Absolutely not; imagine hivo ndio utaingiza kijana depression.”

She advocated for couples to work together and not rely entirely on one person to provide; even if he is the breadwinner, they could use a little help.
