RIGATHI GACHAGUA ADVISES PROTESTORS TO REFRAIN FROM VANDALISING PROPERTY AHEAD OF THE PLANNED PROTESTS.

Deputy President of Kenya Rigathi Gachagua has issued a strong warning to protestors who are planning to vandalize public property as well as those that belong to others to change their ways or risk facing the consequences that won’t be friendly.

Speaking to a gathering he assured the public that they will be protected and the government will do everything in their power to ensure that they work on the high cost of living.

He told the protestors or rather those who are interested to take part in the demonstrations are at liberty to do so as long as they don’t destroy other people’s property as well as the government.

“For those who are saying they are going to the streets, they are welcome to go and make noise and go home, let them not dare destroy public property and private property.

That won’t be allowed because we are a responsible government.”

According to the Deputy president, he advocates for people to go and demonstrate in the streets as long as they don’t vandalise estate property, structures and even buildings that are inside the Capital city of Nairobi or anywhere else.

Gachagua said that they can wear their sufurias in the head and march on the streets quietly, after which at end of the day they should go back to their respective homes.

He although assured the public that the country is safe and urged citizens to go and work as usual.

The Azimio coalition leader Raila Odinga had flown out of the country is expected today in the country to address his gathering at Kibera. 

He had initially said that demos will resume after the Ramadan season saying that they will be at bar with peaceful talks and until their demands are met they will be staging two protests a week which is on Tuesday and Thursday.
