Makutano Junction Actor Charles Ouda Passes Away at 38

The world and film industry are in mourning following the death of Kenyan actor Charles Ouda.

On Sunday, the family of Charles ‘Charlie’ J. Ouda and Ciru Muriuki announced the passing of Ouda, aged 38.

“Dear friends and family, it is with great sadness that we share the passing of Charles ‘Charlie’ J. Ouda on the night of February 3, 2024,” reads the statement.

The family, however, requested privacy for the bereaved fiancée and Ouda family as they navigated through the challenging period.

They also requested space to mourn the loss, with additional information to be shared in due time.

Ouda, renowned for his noteworthy contributions to diverse film projects such as Makutano Junction, The First Grader, and Count It Out, was not only a gifted actor but also a distinguished film director and scriptwriter.

Charlie has also starred in other television shows like The Know Zone: Changing Times (KTN), Higher Learning, Changes, Mali (NTV), Second Family, Crime and Justice (Showmax), and Salem (Maisha Magic).

Charlie has also starred in other television shows like The Know Zone: Changing Times (KTN), Higher Learning, Changes, Mali (NTV), Second Family, Crime and Justice (Showmax), and Salem (Maisha Magic).

His exceptional skills won him various awards from the NYC Indie Film Awards and the esteemed title of Best Director at the 2016 Asian American Film Lab 72 Hour Shoot Out.

The legend, whose body of work speaks for itself, was mourned by his fellow performers and celebrities as well as the general public.
