Main Story

Intelligence Leads Police to Nakuru Residence

Officers from Githioro Police Station arrested Calvin Okoli Ndimu after acting on intelligence linking him to reported burglaries in Tabuga and neighbouring areas of Nakuru County.

According to information released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), officers searched the 27-year-old’s home in Free Area, where they discovered various items suspected to have been obtained through unlawful entry into residential properties.

The operation comes amid investigations into several break-ins reported in the area over the last two months.

Electronics and Household Goods Recovered

Among the items seized during the search were two 43-inch television screens, two television stands and three subwoofers.

Officers also recovered assorted clothing, bedding and footwear believed to be connected to the reported incidents.

Investigators have made progress in tracing the recovered property, with some items already identified by their rightful owners. The identification process could help detectives establish links between the recovered goods and individual burglary reports.

Ammunition Found During Search

The search also uncovered a pair of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) jungle trousers, a homemade toy gun, one live round and blank ammunition measuring 7.62×51mm in calibre.

Authorities are expected to examine the recovered items as part of the wider investigation into the suspect’s alleged activities.

However, the discovery of the property and ammunition does not, on its own, establish the suspect’s guilt. Investigators must establish the circumstances surrounding the items and any connection to the reported offences.

Suspect Held as Investigations Continue

The suspect remains in custody as officers complete the necessary procedures before his expected arraignment in court.

Detectives are continuing their inquiries to determine the full scope of the reported burglaries and whether other cases in Nakuru could be connected to the investigation.

The case also highlights the importance of residents reporting break-ins promptly and providing information that can help authorities trace missing property.

As the investigation progresses, the next steps will focus on establishing the origin of the recovered items and presenting the evidence through the appropriate legal process.
