Zzero Sufuri Shares The Reason Why GengeTone Used To thrive Back in Their Days

Kenyan Gengetone artist Zzero Sufuri has shared the reason that made their music remain relevant back in their day.

Speaking in Chipukeezy’s show, he said that back in their days, Gengetone was relevant and used to hit because their tracks were exclusively ‘Genge’ with no tone as the ones lately have. Adding that, God’s time is what actually favored them the most, and it was their time to shine.

“Hiyo time ilikua ni strictly Genge… Hakukua na hiyo tone, so sisi tumekam na hiyo tone.”

The ‘Matiati’ hit maker added that some of them took the old artist’s advice and words into consideration and always looked up to them for mentorship, hence the reason why their music was always relevant and able to be loved by many.

“Msee ka mimi ni Jimwat ndio amenimentor…so from yeye kuna ile seed waliplant manzee.”

He went on to address the current state of Gengetone music, hinting that it would be hard for the music to varnish, and the other reason why it is not being looked at as much as it used to be is because of the existence of many other genres, hence making the audience choose what they love. As well as the fact that many people don’t like embracing and appreciating their own culture, as well as they acknowledge others.

According to Zzero, all the artists singing explicit content that has been termed ‘Dirty Message’ are only getting started, and they will do well with time as long as they are guided and mentored in the right way.
