In a separate incident in Thika West, a suspected drug dealer was arrested after crashing his motorcycle while attempting to evade a police roadblock.

Bhang Hidden Inside Loaf of Bread
A routine visit to Buruburu Police Station took an unexpected turn after police arrested a 26-year-old woman who had allegedly brought bhang concealed inside a loaf of bread for her boyfriend.
Bernice Achieng Otieno had visited the station to see her boyfriend, who is currently being held by police. She reportedly asked officers to hand him the loaf of bread.
However, officers became suspicious after noticing that the package had been opened.
A search of the loaf allegedly uncovered five rolls of bhang and a matchbox hidden inside. Officers then conducted a further search of Achieng, leading to the discovery of seven additional rolls in her jacket pocket.
The total number of rolls recovered from her possession was 12.
Achieng remains in police custody as investigators process the case ahead of her expected arraignment.
Motorcycle Chase Ends in Crash
Meanwhile, police in Thika West arrested another suspected drug peddler following a dramatic motorcycle chase in the Kairi area.
The suspect, identified as John Mwangi, alias “Bombay,” was reportedly riding with a female passenger when they encountered a police roadblock.
Police say the pair attempted to escape after spotting the officers, triggering a pursuit.
The chase ended near Ree Supermarket when Mwangi reportedly lost control of the motorcycle after encountering a speed bump. The motorcycle crashed, allowing the female passenger to escape into the surrounding crowd.
Mwangi was arrested at the scene.
A search of the motorcycle allegedly resulted in the recovery of more than 300 rolls of bhang. Detectives also found an additional three kilogrammes of the narcotic wrapped in yellow polythene and secured to the motorcycle seat.
Mwangi was taken to Kimuchu Police Station, where he remains in custody pending processing and arraignment.
Police Intensify Anti-Drug Operations
The two arrests come as police continue efforts to disrupt the distribution of illicit drugs within Nairobi and neighbouring areas.
The unusual concealment of the narcotics including inside bread and on a motorcycle has also attracted public attention, with images of the seized items circulating widely online.
Both suspects remain in custody as authorities prepare the cases for court.
