Man Dies After Arriving at Health Facility
The deceased, identified as Samuel Katavi, was taken to a health facility in Yatta at approximately 10pm on September 14.
Police said Katavi had a single stab injury on the left side of his chest, with visible bleeding from the wound.
A health worker examined him and found that he was unresponsive. He was subsequently pronounced dead.
Police Question Account Given by Suspects
During questioning, the three people reportedly told police that Katavi had earlier been involved in a physical confrontation with a man known as Pato.
According to the account, Pato had allegedly threatened to stab Katavi and his friends.
However, investigators reportedly found inconsistencies in the explanation and continued probing the circumstances surrounding Katavi’s injury.
Officers Visit Reported Scene
One of the detained individuals later took police officers to what was described as the primary scene.
