Gisairo Involved in Night Crash
Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Gisairo has confirmed that he survived a road accident while travelling to Nairobi from his constituency on Monday evening.
The lawmaker said the incident happened at around 8pm when an Isuzu D-Max allegedly hit his vehicle from behind.
Gisairo identified the pickup as registration KDX 961T and said it was registered to Isuzu Kenya and leased to the Ministry of Interior. His account has been reported by multiple outlets, while investigations into the incident continue.
Impact Sends Pickup Off the Road
According to Gisairo, the collision caused the D-Max to lose control and roll onto the road shoulder.
His own vehicle also suffered damage, including the loss of its rear right tyre, but his driver managed to bring the car to a safe stop.
The MP said he and members of his team were not seriously injured, although they experienced muscle pulls following the impact.
Questions Over What Happened at the Scene
Gisairo said he and his team assisted the two people who were inside the other vehicle following the crash.
He later raised questions about how the occupants were removed from the scene, saying a government vehicle arrived and took them away shortly after traffic police officers had arrived.
According to the MP, the removal happened before what he described as the normal traffic procedures at an accident scene had been completed.
