Boda Boda Chairman Found Dead
The body of Harrison Waweru Kinyanjui was discovered on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Mbuguri Village, Kiangombe Location.
According to police, the 47-year-old was found lying in a pool of blood in a bush close to a roadside in Kariru Sub-location.
Officers who responded to the scene observed what appeared to be a gunshot injury just below his right ear. Preliminary police findings indicated that the shooting may have occurred at close range.
Investigators also recovered two pistol cartridges whose calibre had not immediately been established.
Last Known Movements
Waweru’s wife told investigators that her husband served as the chairman of boda boda riders in Siakago Township.
She said he was last seen around midday on Saturday, September 12, after he dropped her off at the NG-CDF Mbeere North offices in Siakago.
His whereabouts and activities between the time he was last seen and when his body was discovered are now part of the police investigation.
Detectives Begin Probe
Crime Scene Investigation officers from Embu processed the area and collected items that could assist detectives in reconstructing what happened.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear, and police are expected to investigate Waweru’s final movements, possible interactions and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
His body was later moved to the mortuary at Embu Level 5 Hospital, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
The postmortem examination is expected to provide additional information that could help investigators establish the circumstances of his death as the probe continues.
