Detectives in Murang’a County are investigating the death of a 28-year-old woman in Kangema, in an incident police have classified as a suspected murder.
The deceased, identified as Wincate Murugi Nchoki, was discovered lying on a sofa inside her residential home in Muguru Ward.
Officers who responded to the scene noted several physical injuries. These included swelling around her eyes, a cut on her right hand and blood coming from her nostrils.
Baby Found Beside Mother
During the police operation, officers made another concerning discovery.
The woman’s one-year-old daughter was found on the same sofa alongside her mother’s body.
The child was rescued and later taken to Koimbi Children’s Home, where she was placed under care and protection.
