Mejja shares why his mom wanted him to join the army

Renowned genge artist Mejja has been in the music industry for several years; and still remains relevant despite the genre inviting new talent time after time.

The musician has had a successful career over the years, garnering millions of views with his songs.

Mejja’s earlier life

With the latter being mentioned, Mejja’s destiny as a musician would have come to pass if he followed the path that his mum wanted him to go.

According to Mejja, despite his mother showing him immense support in music, she previously wanted him to join the army.

Narrating the incident on UpSyd podcast, Mejja explained that the reason his mum wanted him to follow that path was because her friends also had grown up boys who were willing to join the army.

”Nimefanya vitu mob. Matha alikuwa amesema anataka niingie jeshi. Sikukuwa mnono hivi hiyo time. Matha alini force niingie. Saa hizo ndio nimetoka high school. ”

Mejja continued, explaining that he wasn’t willing to join the army. He gave up after a routine exercise that was to determine ideal candidates to join the army.

Mejja went ahead to pursue his musical career solo; which proved to be a success.
