1. Sharon Otieno Murder Case (2018–2026)
In September 2018, 26-year-old university student Sharon Otieno was found murdered in Homa Bay County while pregnant. Investigators alleged she had been in a relationship with then-Migori Governor Okoth Obado and was expecting his child.
The case shocked Kenyans after journalist Barack Oduor, who had accompanied Sharon before the attack, survived the abduction and became a key witness. Following years of hearings involving dozens of witnesses, the High Court in 2026 found former Governor Okoth Obado, his former personal assistant Michael Oyamo and former county clerk Caspal Obiero guilty of her murder. Six-month-old Samantha Pendo died after suffering serious injuries during police operations in Kisumu following the disputed 2017 General Election.

3. Monica Kimani Murder Case (2018–2024)
Businesswoman Monica Kimani was found murdered inside her Nairobi apartment in September 2018.

10. The 2017 Presidential Election Petition
