It is Understanding the Character ~ Jackie Matubia Speaks On How She Manages to fit in Her lead Role in ‘Salem’ Series

Kenyan socialite and actress Jackie Matubia speaks on how she is able to fit her role in the new series ‘Salem’ in town.

Speaking in an interview with the press yesterday at the KICC in Crazy Kennar’s sold-out show, she said that she loves acting and is grateful for being the lead actor.

“Guys, Salem is the only teledramatic in the 254; we do not have any other drama, and I am over the moon to be playing the lead in Salem and just playing the role of Mufasa. If you guys haven’t watched Mufasa, I don’t know what you guys are watching!” Jackie shared.

For starters, Salem is a story about inequality about the poor and the rich, a scenario where the poor are trying hard to make ends meet while the rich are thriving in their success and even using it to their advantage, it airs on Maisha Magic plus station as well as Dstv from Monday to Friday starting 8:00PM.

She also shared that the most emotional part she normally goes through each time is how she manages to balance work and her daughters by raising them alone and congratulating herself for being the breadwinner.

“Every day when I am from work and I go home, and I have to go through my daughter’s room and look at them, I am just grateful for the way I manage to provide for my daughters. It is the little things that really get me so emotional.

Every night, I am so emotional when I see my kids.” Jackie shared.

On how she manages to fit in any role that she has ever been provided with, she says that it is through understanding the character and taking the form of that character without limits.

“It is understanding the character at that time; Jackie Matubia is not there; it is the character, and for example, right now I am playing Zara Mufasa. It is understanding the character, where the character is going, where the character is coming from, and what the character should feel at the moment; that is the only thing you need to do as an actor.” Jackie shared.
