7 Habits that will help you create a long lasting marriage

Published on

During the early phase of marriage, many couples barely come up for air due to the excitement of falling in love. Unfortunately, this blissful state doesn’t last forever. Holding hands, hugs, and tender touch are great ways to affirm your love for your partner.

There are actually a number of ways on how you can work on your marriage in as much as there is no perfect marriage; just like any other thing, marriage and relationships also require commitment and dedication in the same way as studies and plants which is why it is always important to commit yourself.

Below are ways on how you can spice up your marriage to last longer:

1. Always be ready to hear each other out.

It is always good to be there for each other and listen to everyone’s opinions in order for our relationship or marriage to thrive.

2. Allow tension to build.

Brains experience more pleasure when the anticipation of the reward goes on for some time before we receive it. So take your time during foreplay, share fantasies, change locations,

3. Focus on affectionate touch

Offer to give your partner a back or shoulder rub, affectionate touch is a powerful way to demonstrate and rekindle passion even if you are not a touchy-feely person.

4. Spend more time together.

In any relationship, there’s something referred to as ‘availability,’ as in being there, the relationship can only exist if you are there. This goes a long way because then you get to learn your partner, understand what he or she likes so that you can play around with it. If you don’t spend more time together, you’re missing out on a lot because then.

5. Support each other’s dreams.

Being partners means you have each other’s back. The most important thing is walking together and helping each other grow; don’t take down on each other or use ‘Absolute’ words.

And also, most importantly, listen to each other and don’t ignore anything.

6. Put away the phones when spending quality time.

When together, always embrace the aspect of spending ‘quality time’ together, which is not the time to start scrolling and switching apps and making endless phone calls. When you are with your partner, it is always good to get their attention, even if it means you are only watching. The same applies when you are out on dates.

7. Don’t hide anything from each other.

Be open. You are in a relationship. Be open to your partner. It helps remove doubts from your love life. Discuss everything, including your finances, amongst other things that revolve around the two of you because you will be building a family soon.
