Eric Omondi Speaks on why He Has Decided to Ban Comedy in Kenya

Published on

Self-proclaimed president of comedy Eric Omondi has shared the reason why he has banned comedy in Kenya.

Speaking in a brief interview with Clouds FM Tanzania after landing, he stated that he has banned comedy in the country because there’s nothing to laugh about.

Kila mahali hatutaki comedy Kenya maanake, there is nothing to laugh about. Hatutaki kucheka, hatutaki kuchekeshwa, tuna huzuni, tuna misiba, maisha yetu magumu, mafuriko ndio hayo, unga, stima ndio hiyo mafuta, karo, kodi ndi hiyo.

We don’t have anything to smile about, Kwa sasa hatutaki comedy Kenya mimi kama rais nimekataa,” Eric said.

He personally, like any other resident in the country, feels like Kenyans are not in the mood to enjoy or, rather, laugh about anything since life is hard.
