Kenyan socialite and influencer Azziad Nasenya has talked about how she dealt with depression, having been in a situation where she wanted to take her own life.

Speaking in an interview, she was at Azziad and said something like if there’s something that made her think about taking her life, it’s ‘bullying’ that she took, and that came in hard for her, and she opted to take her life.

She said that after she went viral because of the ‘Utawezana’ TikTok video challenge she did, everyone was talking about it. The worst part is that there was another level of criticism from the public that made her break down.

Azziad said that by then she was living in an apartment on the 4th floor where she felt like it was too much and decided to end her life by going to the balcony and dropping herself. This didn’t go through, though, thanks to her close team and reliable friends and partner, who advised her to take it slow as it would pass.

“It changed after a day and a half… It escalated…. I remember I was alone. I was crying. It was terrible. It was in the middle of a lookdown. I literally went to my balcony, and I was like, Is this where you would let me go?

I thought of it, but I had a strong team. I had my management team there. I had my friends there. Not there. They were on the phone the next day. The first thing tomorrow morning, they were there.” Azziad narrated.

She finally faced her fears and accepted that not everyone would love what she does. She made peace with the fact that there would be those who would oppose her content and moved on from there.

At the moment, Azziad is not only an influencer; she also works on radio and has other companies she is promoting goods for.
