Celebrated Swahili news anchor Lulu Hassan is proud to be married to her best friend, Rashid Abdalla.

Speaking with SPM Buzz recently, Lulu Hassan revealed to have been married to Rashid Abdalla for 15 years and still counting.

However unlike other couples who share everything including a joint bank accounts; Lulu Hassan revealed that is the one thing she has never done with Rashid Abdalla.

According to her, a couple should be open about their finances – in that they combine their salaries end month; see who should cover what bill then share the remainder.

However she discouraged couples from opening joint bank account, saying that is where she draws the line.

Si advocate for sharing accounts. Sio poa, labda muandikie watoto. Lulu Hassan told SPM’s Silva Kido.

Although she did not get into details, Lulu Hassan insisted on couples maintaining separate accounts.

Successful marriage

Explaining why her marriage remains intact and happy, the Citizen Tv anchor revealed that friendship has been the glue holding their union together.

According to Lulu Hassan, couples who set a good foundation on their friendship have a high chance of lasting together.

Siri ya boma ni urafiki na heshima. Hizo mbili zinacome first and then mapenzi. Me huwa naambia kila mtu huwezi olewa na mtu ambae sio rafiki yako. Lulu Hassan told Silva Kido.

On the same, she discouraged couples from crowding each other simply because they are married. According to her, space and trust is something that helps build a good relationship among married couples.
