6 Rules You Should always Abide By When Flying

Published on

When it comes to flying, there are unspoken rules of etiquette that can make a significant difference in the comfort and experience of both yourself and your fellow passengers.

Below are six rules that you ought to follow when traveling by air:

1. Reclining seats
Reclining your seat is okay, according to 88% of travelers, but according to 33% of respondents, it should only be done on long-haul or overnight flights. It’s critical to give the person behind you consideration for their space and comfort.

2. Armrest Sharing
Armrests are supposed to be shared, especially for the individual occupying the center seat, according to 57% of respondents. Refrain from using both armrests since this may cause your seatmates discomfort during the flight.

3. Keeping socks on
The majority of participants agreed that keeping your socks on during a flight is a good practice. This helps maintain cleanliness and a hygienic environment for everyone on board.

4. Avoiding Strong-Smelling Foods
A staggering 92% of travelers find it inappropriate to bring foods with strong smells onto an airplane. Be mindful of your fellow passengers and opt for odorless or non-offensive snacks.

5. Using Headphones
Almost 70% of people think it’s rude to watch or listen to media on a flight without headphones. When enjoying in-flight entertainment or listening to music, please respect others’ right to a quiet and serene voyage by using headphones.

6. Respecting Personal Space
Most respondents emphasized the importance of respecting personal space. Never put your feet on the seat in front of you, as this invades the personal space of the passenger sitting there.
