Police Investigate Discovery of Body Near River Kandisi

Detectives in Kajiado County have launched investigations following the discovery of an unidentified man’s body beside River Kandisi in Ongata Rongai.

The body was discovered on the morning of Monday, October 19, 2026, by a boda boda operator travelling from Kandisi towards Ongata Rongai Township.

Police officers who responded to the report found the man lying face down near the river.

An initial examination revealed visible injuries around both ankles, the elbows and the face. The findings prompted investigators to look into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Officers photographed and documented the scene before transferring the body to City Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.

The deceased is estimated to have been about 30 years old, but his identity remains unknown.

Investigators are working to identify the man, determine how he sustained the injuries and establish the cause of death.

Murang’a Police Probe Death of 53-Year-Old Man

In a separate incident, police in Murang’a County are investigating the suspected murder of Evans Wainaina Nganga, aged 53, whose body was discovered in a trench in the Kangangu area of Murang’a South Sub-County.

The incident was reported at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Officers who arrived at the scene found the deceased lying in the trench, reportedly with some of his clothing missing.

Police also documented disturbing physical findings, including injuries to the neck and a foreign object. These findings are expected to form part of the investigation into the circumstances of his death.

Scenes-of-crime officers processed the area and collected relevant information before the body was taken to General Kago Thika Mortuary.

A postmortem examination is pending as detectives seek to establish the cause of death and determine whether other individuals may have been involved.

Authorities have not yet established the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigations Underway After Body Recovered From Masinga Dam

Meanwhile, police in Embu County are investigating a suspected drowning after the body of a man identified as Musyoka was recovered from Masinga Dam.

According to the initial report, Musyoka was last seen on Friday, October 16, 2026, when he reportedly boarded a boat to enter the dam.

Police officers visited the scene and confirmed the presence of the body before retrieving it from the water with assistance from members of the public.

An initial examination reportedly revealed no visible external injuries.

The body was subsequently taken to Embu Level 5 Hospital mortuary for preservation pending identification procedures and a postmortem examination.

Investigators are seeking to establish what happened after the man was last seen boarding the boat and whether the available evidence supports drowning as the cause of death.

The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain under investigation.

Postmortem Examinations Expected to Provide Answers

The three incidents have prompted separate investigations, with authorities seeking to establish the circumstances behind each death.

Postmortem examinations are expected to help determine the causes of death, while further investigations may establish the sequence of events leading to the discoveries.

In the Kajiado case, identifying the deceased remains an important priority. In Murang’a, detectives are examining the circumstances surrounding the injuries reported on Nganga’s body. In Embu, investigators are seeking to clarify the events surrounding Musyoka’s disappearance and recovery from the dam.

Police have not announced final findings in any of the three cases.

As investigations continue, the findings from forensic examinations and other evidence are expected to help answer questions surrounding the deaths.

As detectives work to piece together the events behind the three deaths, postmortem findings and further investigations will be crucial in establishing what happened and providing answers to the affected families.
