Main Story
Investigation Leads to First Arrest
Parklands detectives have arrested two people as they investigate the disappearance of electronic equipment from KenGen premises.
The case began after the company reported that an HP laptop and an iPad had been stolen on September 14, 2026.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), detectives followed several leads before tracing the first person of interest to Imara Daima, Nairobi.
The suspect was arrested, with officers also recovering several items they believe could assist with the ongoing investigation.
Stolen Laptop Recovered
The investigation did not end with the first arrest.
Detectives followed additional leads that took them to a second person of interest, from whom they recovered an HP laptop.
Officers then checked the device’s serial number against the details contained in the original theft report.
The verification confirmed that the laptop was the same one reported missing from KenGen premises.
Police Pursue Remaining Property
The two individuals remain in police custody as detectives work to establish how the devices were stolen and whether other people were involved.
Investigators are also pursuing leads aimed at recovering the missing iPad and any other property that may have been taken from the company.
The DCI said investigations are continuing as detectives piece together the circumstances surrounding the theft.
With one of the stolen devices already recovered, detectives are now working to uncover the full chain behind the theft and locate the remaining property.
