Kenyan Brand ambassador and CEO of Akothee safaris and Foundation has given the reason as to why Kenya is loosing tourists to neighbouring countries.
Speaking through his social media page, she said that Kenya is full of bribery and poor marketing strategies.
“Some of this things are the ones that has made Kenya loose tourists to our neighbouring countries, just small things that could be fixed.
Adding that Tourists are harassed by Kenyans from the airport wanting them to tip them all all the way until they aboard something she has described as unprofessionalism. She also pointed out that the tourism sector isn’t being considered nor are investors considered.
“No one advocates for tourism, no one protects the tourists or the investors,No one, Bribery starts from the airport.
Tourists are harassed from the immigration to when they get into their taxis…it is annoying when people keep asking for money from tourists. This starts right from their landing.”
She compared the scenario in Kenya with Europe saying that when she travels to other continents there’s no such thing or rather behaviour like the one that is rooted in Kenya.
Despite all that she although acknowledged Kenya as a country full of opportunities and among one of the leading tourism sectors in the world
