35-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Ruiru
Police in Ruiru, Kiambu County, are investigating the death of John Ngila, whose body was discovered inside a room at a worksite in Kahawa Sukari.
Ngila’s brother reportedly arrived at the premises and found him lying motionless on the floor of a room used by a watchman and his brother.
Investigators observed several injuries on Ngila’s head and face, including a deep wound on his cheek.
A piece of timber with blood stains was also found near a bed inside the room. Detectives recovered it as part of the evidence being examined.
Previous Threats Being Investigated
Police are also looking into claims that Ngila had previously been threatened by another watchman.
According to his brother, the man had accused Ngila of monitoring or spying on fellow workers and allegedly warned him that there would be consequences if he lost his job because of him.
The alleged threat had not been reported to police before Ngila’s death.
Investigators are now working to establish whether the earlier dispute had any connection to the fatal incident.
Crime scene officers from Juja documented and processed the area before the body was taken to Kenyatta University Hospital Mortuary.
A postmortem examination is expected to help establish the cause of death as detectives continue looking for a suspect.
Man Found Stabbed in Kisumu
In Kisumu County, detectives are investigating the death of Meshack Odera, 30, after his body was discovered beside a rough road in Eluhobe Village, Kisumu West Sub-County.
Odera was found approximately 250 metres from his rented home.
Police who responded to the scene reported that he had sustained a deep stab wound to his back, with blood still visible around the injury. Bruising was also noted on both knees.
The circumstances leading to the death remain unclear, with investigators yet to establish a possible motive or identify anyone who may have been involved.
Officers processed the scene and documented available evidence before the body was transferred to Masaba Hospital Mortuary.
A postmortem examination is expected to provide additional information as detectives follow leads surrounding the incident.
Body Recovered From River Mabanga
Meanwhile, police in Uasin Gishu County are investigating after the body of Kevin Avugwi, 37, was retrieved from River Mabanga in Turbo Sub-County.
The body was discovered floating in the river at Osorongai Sub-Location in Ng’enyilel on August 23, 2026.
Police received the report at around 6:33 pm after a member of the public, identified as Nelson Meme, alerted authorities.
Officers from Kipkaren River Police Station went to the location and recovered the body from the water.
A preliminary examination reportedly did not reveal any visible external injuries.
Avugwi’s identity was confirmed by his father, Evans Chaya Avugwi.
The body was taken away as investigators continued working to establish how he ended up in the river and the circumstances surrounding his death.

The three cases remain separate investigations, with detectives in each county examining evidence, conducting inquiries and pursuing leads that could clarify what happened.
