YY explains why Sakaja should not be blamed for flooded areas in Nairobi (Video)

Sakaja has over the past few weeks received criticism from Kenyans and fellow politicians who feel he failed to govern Nairobi City.

Apart from accusing him of misusing public funds, the governor has also been blamed for poor drainage system in the city.

This is following the heavy floods that have affected homes not forgetting roads hence causing untimely deaths all over the city.

However comedian YY says Kenyans need to stop blaming the governor over issues he cannot control. To him the amount of water he has seen from the rains was never something planned but a natural cause no one can control.

Sakaja might have his faults and short comings as a governor but i feel it’s unfair for him to carry blame ya floods. YY opened up.

Speaking recently with journalists, YY insisted that even with good drainage systems, it would have still flooded anyway – hence main reason the governor should be given a break.

The amount of water naona cannot be controlled by drainange system. Inajaza mtaro moja…alafu hiyo ingine inaenda wapi? YY said.

So tutahave kuweka mtaro kila mahali Nairobi? He went on.

Be realistic

To him Kenyans especially those in Nairobi need to understand that natural disasters can only be controlled after they occur.

With this they can judge how response from the government was or how fast they reacted to control the disaster.

As a governor he might have failed in different prospects, but when it comes to this flood, if we are to blame the government maybe post the floods. Maybe disaster managed after it has already occurred. Like what have they done? How fast are they moving? Hapo ndio tunaweza blame gava. He said.

YY’s sentiments come at a time when Nairobi residents feel ready to have the governor kicked off office for alleged failed leadership.
