Comedian YY has revealed details about his relationship with his ex-wife, Marya Okoth, in a candid interview with Dr. Ofweneke. The couple recently announced their separation, and YY has now shared his perspective on their time together.
In the interview, YY emphasized the importance of having a plan and setting goals in relationships. He recalled meeting Marya when she was studying interior design and pursuing acting. Seeing her potential, he decided to invest in her growth, even when the financial rewards were uncertain.
YY explained that he spent around 40,000 Kenyan shillings on the early episodes of Marya’s YouTube channel, which initially didn’t generate any income. However, he believed in her talent and wanted to support her dreams.
He stressed that relationships shouldn’t be based on expectations.
“Do good without expecting anything in return,” YY advised. He emphasized that investing in a woman’s potential is an act of belief, not a transaction.
YY also offered advice for those who are in or have been in relationships. He emphasized that relationships may not always last forever, and that it’s important to build an ex-partner to be proud of. He concluded by saying that breakups should not be filled with bitterness.
