Kenyan artist Pritty Vishy, has been left crying after YouTube brought down her latest video saying that it has copyrighted content.
The song that she released less than 24 hours ago had started being the talk of the town, while some were expressing their views on how the song was rated out of 10.
She shared the screenshot, or rather, a picture of the message sent by YouTube telling her why her song had been taken down.
“Due to a copyright takedown notice that we received, “We had to take down your video from YouTube.”
The statement went on to inform her that she already has one strike and that if she gets more, her account might be brought down.
“You now have one copyright strike. “If you get multiple copyright strikes, we’ll have to disable your account. To prevent that from happening, please don’t upload videos containing copyrighted content that you aren’t allowed to use.”
Pritty Vishy, on the other hand lamented, saying that they are being unjust as she puts in hard work in releasing the music and urging the public to come in and support her.
“I am not ok; this is not fair… I do my things; no family supports me; then someone wakes up and does this to me; someone help me; I am weak now.”
Copyright entails a type of intellectual property that protects original works of authorship as soon as an author fixes the work in a tangible form of expression, making sure that it can’t be tampered with. Should anyone dare tamper with it, then they are subjected to such consequences as Pritty Vishy has been.
