Wilson Muchemi Responds To Shorn Arwa’s Claims Concerning The Barbie Premiere

Kenyan actor and filmmaker Wilson Muchemi has responded to Shorn Arwa’s claims of being surprised by not being able to identify any content creators that she is familiar with in the newly launched Barbie Film.

Shon Arwa

In a video she shared online, Shorn Arwa is seen questioning the people who were featured in the premiere, expressing her disappointment in the people who were selected to feature.

Below is what she was saying in the video:

“You Guys have sent me pictures of these guys, and my question is, Hawa ni akina nani? Who are these people? I have not seen people that I know… I am not seeing the people that I know. I am not seeing the usual content creators. Who are these?…”

According to Wilson Muchemi, Shorn Arwa has portrayed intentional ignorance and clearly shows that she doesn’t support new talents that are coming aboard; hence, she isn’t a supportive fellow Content creator.

“My only problem is that she’s so used to seeing familiar content creator faces that I feel in some way she’s diminishing the new ones by saying, ‘Hawa ni akina nani. This shows how these older creators in the industry don’t appreciate the newbies.

It is not good to diminish the new kids on the block.” Wilson Muchemi Concluded.

The Barbie Movie that’s being talked about is the first live-action Barbie film after numerous computer-animated direct-to-video and streaming television films. The film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, and follows the two on a journey of self-discovery following her existential crisis.
Apparently, what happened is that there were a couple of Kenyan Influencers and content creators who attended its premiere at Light Art Club in Nairobi dressed up to the occasion; apparently, that’s what has stirred trouble online. Among those in attendance were Thicky Sandra, Rue Baby, and Joy Ohon.
