Socialite Amber Ray has found herself unexpectedly in the public eye once again following the arrest of controversial X user Maverick Aoko. Aoko faces allegations of spreading false, defamatory, and threatening information involving Amber Ray and her ex-partner, businessman Jimal Rohosafi.

Aoko also faced two other counts of cyber harassment and fraudulent use of electronic data.

It is alleged that on August 3, she published false, defamatory and threatening information touching on one ‘Amber Ray and ‘Jamal’.

“She did this knowing it to be malicious, false and well-calculated to cause fear, panic and destroy the reputation and professional career and livelihood of one Beth Wambui Mbuitu,” the court documents stated.

Aoko who appeared before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi was released on a cash bail of Sh100,000.

While neither Amber Ray nor Jimal have publicly commented on the situation, their past tumultuous relationship has reignited public interest in the matter. The two were involved in a high-profile romance in 2021 and 2022 that ended acrimoniously. Since then, both have moved on and welcomed children with their respective partners.
