As the Sergeant-at-Arms entered the chamber, a group of MCAs attacked him, trying to take the mace.
In a video circulating online, several MCAs were seen wrestling with security personnel, trying to grab the mace, which is a very important symbol.
Despite the heated confrontation, the Sergeant-at-Arms and his team were able to secure the mace, keeping the assembly’s authority intact.
However, the altercation led to significant disruption, halting the day’s proceedings.

MCAs Reject Budget, Cite Insufficient Wajir Needs
The opposing MCAs expressed their dissatisfaction with the allocations. Furthermore, they argued that the budget did not meet the urgent needs of Wajir County residents.
Ibrahim Hussein, the MCA for Wagala Ganyure, voiced his frustrations. As he explained, he wanted the budget to reflect the needs of Wajir’s people because there were many misplaced priorities in the county.
“We want our budget to reflect the needs of the people of Wajir. There are a lot of misplaced priorities going on in this county!”
Hussein’s remarks reflect a broader sentiment among the opposing MCAs. In particular, they believe that the current budget proposal fails to prioritize critical areas.
