Vybz Kartel set to fly out of the country to cure his Graves Disease

Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel has hinted that he plans on going outside the country and receiving treatment for his graves disease, which he claims is treatable.

Vybz Kartel said that the disease is not only curable but also treatable, should you meet the experts who know how to treat it.

“Graves is not only curable, but it is also curable; that is why I am going to fly outside the country and receive treatment. Let me go talk with some high-tech team, Possibly we’ll go to St. Vincent, Cuba, Switzerland, and seek better treatment.” Kartel revealed.

He also talked about the symptoms the graves disease comes with, saying that in the first stages, he used to sweat and tremble a lot, leading to the swelling of his eyes. Nonetheless, he has managed to cope with it thanks to his supportive family, friends and wife despite him walking around with a bandana covering his swollen face that he says is at times very sensitive.

The ‘Rambo Kanambo’ hitmaker hopes that he will get back to his old self and treat the condition that has been preventing hi from unleashing his full potential

What is Grave Disease

Graves’ disease is an autoimmune disorder where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own tissues.

In this case, the target is the thyroid gland, located at the base of the neck. The thyroid’s main function is to produce hormones that regulate metabolism, heart rate, body temperature, and many other functions.

In Graves’ disease, the immune system produces antibodies that stimulate the thyroid gland, making it overwork and leading to excessive production of thyroid hormones, a condition known as hyperthyroidism.

This condition manifests in various ways, including an irregular heartbeat, excessive sweating, and sensitivity to heat or cold. Weight loss despite increased appetite is another symptom.

Graves’ disease is a lifelong (chronic) condition. However, treatments can keep your thyroid hormone levels in check. Medical care may even make the disease temporarily go away, which is why Kartel has resorted to this alternative and make it right.
