Jamaican Olympic sprinter, Usain Bolt is trying to recover $12 million that went missing from an account he had with Kingston-based investment firm Stocks and Securities which were part of his retirement and lifetime savings.
His lawyer, Linton. P. Gordon was recently informed that only $12,000 were remaining in the account. According to him it is not an easy time for Bolt, “It’s distressful time for anyone and certainly in the case of Mr. Bolt who established this account as part of his private pension.”
His lawyer also divulged that they would take the matter to court is he is not refunded, “We will be going to court with the matter” if the company does not return the funds. It is a grave disappointment, and we are hoping that the matter will be resolved in a way that Mr. Bolt will recover his money and be able to live in peace.”
Bolt on Monday tweeted lyrics that read, “The History of evil. What is the root? MONEY”
Bolt, an eight-time Olympic gold medal winner, is considered the world’s fastest man, holding world records in the 100-meter and 200-meter races.
