The Education Working party or rather team has said that it wants school fees increased from 16,000 ksh to 52,000ksh per semester.

This will apply to all public universities in the Country, This proposal has been presented to the President and if it’s approved then there will be a lot of students that will benefit from it.

This will apply to all Government sponsored students the move was made because they felt that they haven’t been offering enough because the needs were now becoming many compared to the number of students admitted yearly and the little they have isn’t quite enough for all.

And so by coming up with this proposal, they look to fix the tuition so that higher education can be accessed by all students, as well put themselves in a position to compete with the private Institutions as well.

The Working party also wants the Government to write off huge debts owed by Universities.

They also want the Government to help them restructure the University governance among many other resolutions and amends they want attended to.

As upto now there is no word as far as this news is concerned.
