Kenyan content creator Shiqo Shigwan has opened up about where she met her fellow content creator.
Speaking in a brief interview we had with her, she opened up, saying that she met Sammyro at her place—in other words, in the area where she lives—and that’s when they started doing content together.
Tulipatana kwangu… kwangu nivenue, tulipatana huko na tukaanza kufanya content. We like telling our story because we know it best; we don’t fake it.
Na hatujui maneno ya mapunk. Na sidhani hatutawahi acha unless muboeke na hatutakubali muboeke.
Shigwan also talked about the average budget of ‘Jaba’ that’s 50 ksh all the way up to 300 ksh, clarifying that she isn’t afraid of talking about it as it is where she comes from.
Shigwan was also involved in the Kenyan Netflix film ‘Click Click Bang’ where she portrayed the ghetto lifestyle and fit the role she was playing perfectly, adding that it did indeed open avenues for her and exposed her to do more and unleash her potential.
She currently does content with Sammyro representing Ghetto and has also been featured in the new ‘Nurse Toto Series’ that’s currently streaming on Eddie Butita’s YouTube weekly.
She also acknowledged the likes of Director Phil, Abel Mutua, Celestine Ndinda, Njugush Creative, and Judy Nyawira for helping her unlock her potential.
I thank them because they helped me cultivate my script-writing skills.
Concluded by urging the ‘Girl Child’ to identify their strengths and put in the work in what they are doing, for you can’t always know who is watching, and someday whatever it is that they are doing can be elevated.
