Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has shared his preference when it comes to president Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta.

The businessman has been among the renowned leaders who shared their opinion on the finance bill before it’s fate.

Sonko admonished Ruto to return the bill to parliament, saying the views of Kenyans opposed to it should be listened to.

“If your heart is with the people of Kenya, Your Excellency send the Finance bill back to the sender,” Sonko urged.

Either way, president Ruto re-considered his decision to pass the finance bill and instead withdrew it. But was it too late? Dozens of innocent Kenyans had already lost their lives while trying to protest against the bill.

Wrong advisors?

Sonko recently shared that the State House was easily accessible during Uhuru Kenyatta’s time as president, unlike now.

He further claimed that the current presidential advisors are not the best fit, citing that they’re corrupt.

”Ata wakati wa Uhuru afadhali tulikua tuna access state house, tunaingia ndani tunapiga ma tot, tunapiga ma story. But sasa hawa watu waliingia, akina Farouk utafkiria ni hao wamechaguliwa kama rais. Matapeli ndio wamezunguka rais Ruto. Na hawa ecomonic advisors ndio wali mislead rais kuleta harsh taxes kwa wananchi,” Sonko stated

Sonko has been eating humble pie after his bid to vie for the Mombasa Governor seat was blocked by the electoral commission IEBC. He is definitely eyeing a political seat in 2027.
